In the March issue of New Directions Fr Thomas Seville of the Community of the Resurrection in the Huddersfield Episcopal Area discusses reconciliation with the Methodist Church - see page 12
A statement from the Executive of Forward in Faith on The Anglican-Methodist Proposals can be read here. The power of Easter was taken onto the streets of Cross Green, Leeds when Parish Priest, Fr Darren Percival and Brother Fabian from the Community of the Resurrection, Mirfield washed the feet of people they met.
“In biblical times the host at an event would delegate foot washing to the lowest servant. Never as a manager working in hospitality until being licensed to stipendiary ministry last September did I have the experience of servant hood in my management career. To get on to the streets of Cross Green and be amongst the people that I love and serve was a great privilege,” said Fr Darren. “In Cross Green and Richmond Hill, we were blest to have with us two Brothers from the Community of the Resurrection, at Mirfield, Father John Gribben and Brother Fabian for Holy Week. Br Fabian and I set up stall in Cross Green for people to have their feet washed, to demonstrate how we love and care for each other in a community that has so many underlying issues.” |
