 Bishop Tony Robinson, the Bishop of Wakefield and the Bishop of The Society for the Diocese of Leeds, joined faith leaders from both sides of the Atlantic to urge the US and UK must do more for Syrian refugees: "We urge David Cameron and President Obama to use what could be their final meeting in the UK as heads of state to urgently address the humanitarian crisis in Syria" they wrote in a letter to the Times, 22 April 2016.

All Saints' and St Mary, Elland, together with St Anne Southowram and St Thomas Claremont invite you to a service of prayer with readings, the renewal of baptismal promises and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament with the Bishop of Wakefield. The service will take place in All Saints' Church, Elland, on Sunday 8th May at 6pm, and is part of the national "Wave of Prayer" between Ascension Day and Pentecost.
